26 Nov Gold Fever
It was a cold frothy morning. A thick winter haze hung low over the valley as I ventured out to a nearby farm where horses and geese, grazed contently in the company of men. Something was different this morning. The corral, normally deserted except for a few livestock, was crowded with pickup trucks and covered wagons. Bearded men dressed in layered clothing with upturned hats busied themselves with tasks that seemed all too familiar. I looked twice to make sure I wasn’t somewhere else…
It would seem I had stumbled upon a location shooting of “Gold Fever,” a television miniseries that is scheduled to air this spring on the Discovery Channel. Dressed casually in long shorts and sweatshirt, I knew I’d have a tough time blending in. Still, I was too excited to care. I figured if I acted nonchalantly and stayed out of the way, no one would mind. So off I went, heading straight into the fog and into the thick of the scene. Taken with the 100L and 200 2.8L.
